Pre workout a Banned substance!?!?!

Banned substances
Now that I have been tested for banned substance use, I did a little bit of research because I don’t even know what they are testing for! Should I be worried? From what I can gather we are under the Canadian Center for Ethics in Sports (CCES). The information I got from them it’s nothing out of the ordinary for the most part example; HGH, anabolic steroids, hormones, types of diuretics, an interesting one I saw was gene doping defined as; (M3)
The transfer of polymers of nucleic acids or nucleic acid analogues and the use of normal or genetically modified cells are prohibited. what ever that means!

Most of the things we take as supplements, and proteins are fine. But it is the athletes responsibility to ensure what they are putting in their bodies are in fact within the rules of the governing body. So if you are near the next level where this comes into play you should look into it sooner rather than later.

One other interesting thing of note is the use of pre workout. Many people I know use it. I for one do not. I stick to the good old fashion coffee for my kick before training. But if you are using a pre workout that contains methylhexaneamine or DMAA it can lead to a doping violation! so be careful and look at the labels even then sometimes they are not listed.

Furthermore Caffeine is a “controlled or restricted substance” as defined by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Athletes are allowed up to 12 ug caffeine per milliliter of urine before it is considered illegal. ***lets just say thats a lot of coffee to drink!

imagesmethylhexaneamine / DMAA can be labelled as follows;

• methylhexaneamine OR methylhexanamine
• 1,3-dimethylpentylamine OR pentylamine
• 1,3-dimethylamylamine OR DMAA
• Geranamine
• Floradrene
• 2-hexanamine, 4-methyl- OR 2-hexanamine, 4-methyl- (9CI) OR 4-methyl-2-hexanamine OR 4-methyl-2-hexylamine
• 4-methylhexan-2-amine OR 2-amino-4-methylhexane
• Forthan OR Forthane OR 1,3-dimethylamylamineforthane
• C7H17N

Here is a list i have found of some supplements that contain the ingredient listed above. click here for the link

Hope this shed some light on the topic!
